WEST HAM forward Michail Antonio is to leave the club after 10 years and 323 appearances as the Hammers decided not to offer him a new deal.

The 35-year-old has not played for the club since being involved in a serious car accident in December which left him with a broken leg.

He has been out of contract since the end of June, with head coach Graham Potter confirming this week that he was not a part of his plans for the new season.

The club said they are exploring options for Antonio to remain at the London Stadium in a non-playing capacity.

In a statement, West Ham said: “Michail will always be a much-loved and respected member of the West Ham United family.

“As has been the case since December, the club will continue to support and assist him in his ongoing rehabilitation, offering him access to training, facilities and medical care if needed.

“Dialogue continues over his future involvement with the club in an alternative capacity – including one that would enable others to benefit from his experience and leadership qualities – and he will forever hold a special place in our 130-year history.

“Everyone at West Ham United would like to sincerely thank Michail for his outstanding, dedicated service in a claret and blue shirt over the last 10 years.

“Further recognition of his magnificent contribution will appear across Club channels in the coming days and weeks.”

His departure brings to an end a hugely memorable decade in east London for the Jamaica international, who joined from Nottingham Forest in 2015.

The pinnacle of his time at the London Stadium came when he helped the club to a first trophy in 43 years with victory over Fiorentina in the Conference League final in 2023.

He was part of three European campaigns under former boss David Moyes, which also included a run to the Europa League semi-finals in 2022 where they eventually lost to Eintracht Frankfurt.

He scored the club’s first goal in Europe in 22 years when he netted away to Dinamo Zagreb in September 2021.

In all, he scored 83 goals for the club including 68 in 268 Premier League appearances, one of which came in West Ham’s final match at their former Upton Park home, a 3-2 victory over Manchester United in 2016.

His final appearance in claret and blue came in a 3-1 defeat away to Leicester on December 3, four days before the collision which left him with a broken leg, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
