Scotland: Ross set to miss Portugal tie with shoulder injury

Scotland manager Anna Signeul all but confirmed yesterday that striker Jane Ross will miss the crucial game against Portugal this weekend.

The Arsenal attacker had to be taken off during Wednesday’s 6-0 defeat to England and Ross’s injury continues Scotland’s awful luck, with world-class playmaker Kim Little ruled out of the tournament by a serious knee problem and starting defender Jennifer Beattie also forced out by injury.

Despite the harrowing defeat, midfielder Lisa Evans refused to give up on their chances to qualify but knows only victory will do.
