Bailiffs give up as activists surround Sweets Way home
Campaigners celebrate after lawyers confirm the failure of estate’s final eviction

HOUSING campaigners declared victory yesterday as they successfully prevented the eviction of a disabled father of four from his house on the north London Sweets Way estate.

The last of the residents, Mostafa Aliverdipour and his eldest son Ash Aliverdipour, decided to defy High Court bailiffs set to come and force them out of their family home.

With the help of former neighbours and community campaigners, Mr Aliverdipour was kept safe and sound as bailiffs looked on from their car before departing without setting foot outside.
