New Era residents facing eviction march on No 10

Radical residents resisting eviction will be joined by comedian Russell Brand as they march on Downing Street today to protest against quadrupling rents on their east London estate.

New Era tenants will be heading to Number 10 to hand in a petition signed by almost 300,000 people demanding a cap in rent on the 1930s Hoxton estate.

“The importance of this march is to show that this is our home and our life, our community,” said New Era resident Dan Molloy.
