Pro-Palestinian demonstration in New York ends with at least 325 protesters arrested

AT LEAST 325 protesters were arrested in New York City on Monday during a pro-Palestinian demonstration, according to local authorities.

The protesters blocked the Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges as well as the Holland Tunnel.

They held signs saying “lift the siege of Gaza” and “end Israel’s occupation” of the Palestinian territories.

Videos circulating on social media networks showed protesters demanding “no more money for the American/Israeli war machine!”

This is the latest in a regular series of protests in support of Palestinians that have taken place since the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel that left over 1,100 dead and the subsequent Israeli invasion of the strip.

On December 27, they protested similarly at Los Angeles International Airport and John F Kennedy International Airport.

Last Saturday, hundreds of people took to the streets of New York during a snow blizzard to show their support of the Palestinian people.

On Monday, a group of activists interrupted a campaign speech by President Joe Biden at Mother Emanuel Church in South Carolina.

“I understand your passion,” Biden commented minutes later when he resumed speaking.

The president said he has “been quietly working with the Israeli government to reduce [attacks] and significantly get out of Gaza,” but his administration has continued to provide the military hardware for Israel’s brutal assault.
