San Francisco set to apologise to black residents over racist laws and policies
SAN FRANCISCO’S Board of Supervisors was set to offer a formal apology today to black residents for decades of racist laws and policies perpetrated by the city, a long-awaited first step as it considers providing reparations.
The city’s legislative body is scheduled to vote on Tuesday on the resolution apologising to African-Americans and their descendants.
All 11 members have signed on as sponsors, guaranteeing its passage.
