Open University staff call on vice-chancellor to resign over cuts

OPEN University staff are calling on the vice-chancellor to resign immediately over cuts that they believe will “destroy” the institution.

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) will vote on a motion of no confidence at an emergency meeting on Thursday, following their return from the Easter break.

Vice-chancellor Peter Horrocks is under fire over his plans to axe hundreds of staff and cut courses by a third.
