President Ramaphosa calls for South African parties to overcome difference to form a coalition

PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa has called for South Africa’s political parties to overcome their differences and find “common ground” to form the country’s first national coalition government.

His comments came in a speech on Sunday, straight after the final election results confirmed that no party had won a majority in last week’s vote.

Unprecedented coalition talks were set to start to find a way forward for Africa’s most industrialised economy.
