
WORLD number one Luke Humphries eased into the last 16 at the 2025 Swiss Darts Trophy in Basel with a 6-2 victory over Callan Rydz.
The 30-year-old Englishman secured his passage with a 136 check-out in the eighth leg to earn his place in the third round of the year’s penultimate European Tour event.
He will be joined by Norwegian Cor Dekker, who made it to finals day for the first time with a 6-3 win against Scotland’s Peter Wright.
Danny Noppert, who made it to the final in Hungary last weekend, edged through against William O’Connor, averaging 104 on his way to a 6-5 success.
There were wins too for Stephen Bunting, who beat Chris Landman 6-3, Jonny Clayton, a 6-4 victor over Nathan Aspinall, and Chris Dobey, who got the better of Mensur Suljovic by the same score.
But James Wade went down to Ryan Joyce in a final-leg decider.
Ryan Searle, Luke Woodhouse, Krzysztof Ratajski, Rob Cross, Gian van Veen, Martin Schindler, Jermaine Wattimena, Raymond van Barneveld and Ritchie Edhouse, who was handed a bye after Ross Smith’s withdrawal for family reasons, will also be in action on Sunday.
