Young Palestinians start tour in Wales

YOUNG Palestinians from Jerusalem and the West Bank were welcomed into Wales this week at the start of their 13-week tour across Wales and England.

The eight teenagers will meet British young people to talk about their experiences.

The tour’s organisers said it’s also an opportunity to meet each other, as they are normally kept apart by walls and checkpoints.

One of the young people, Kinda B said: “I aim to spread the word about my people and to be the best ambassador for my country.”

Cardiff City international footballers Yousef Salech and Anwar El Ghazi are meeting the Palestinians at the Falastin Football Fest in Treforest.

The trip has been organised by the Camden Abu-Dis Friendship Association (CADFA), which promotes cultural exchanges between Palestinian and British young people, helping raise awareness of the human rights crisis in Palestine.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Palestine Solidarity Campaign, along with TUC Cymru, are sponsoring the events in Wales.
