WOMEN’S BASKETBALL:

Serbia tip off against Australia in tomorrow morning’s first Olympic quarter-final before reigning champions the USA meet Nigeria later tomorrow evening.

The Americans have not lost a game at the Olympics since the former Soviet Union team beat them in the semi-finals at Barcelona in 1992.

Spain, the only other unbeaten team at this year’s event, play Belgium and France face Germany in tomorrow’s other last eight ties.

MEN’S CRICKET:

Sri Lanka take on India in Colombo tomorrow for the final leg of their three match one-day series.

Jeffrey Vandersay took 6-33 and Charith Asalanka picked up 3-20 as the Indians collapsed to a surprise 32-run defeat in the second game after the first match had ended in a tie.

India are currently ranked as the world’s best one-day team with the Sri Lankans back in seventh place.

SPEEDWAY:

Belle Vue captain Brady Kurtz scored 14 points as the Aces led from the first tape to comfortably beat Premiership bottom club Birmingham 53-37 on Monday night.

Birmingham have yet to win away from home this season.

Leicester continued their recent good form and moved back into the play-off places as Luke Becker bagged 13 points riding at number four in their 52-38 win at Kings Lynn.

MEN’S FOOTBALL:

Paksi FC, the Hungarian team that only uses home-grown players, face Montenegro’s Mornar tomorrow evening in the first leg of their Europa Conference League third qualifying round tie.

Tonight’s other games see FC Copenhagen up against Banik Ostrava, Estonia’s Paide at Hacken and St Gallen playing Slask Wroclaw.
