POLAND: Hundreds of young doctors rallied outside the prime minister’s office on Saturday to demand more healthcare funding and pay rises.

The protest was in solidarity with 20 medics who have been on hunger strike at a Warsaw children’s hospital for two weeks.

Scant funding forces Poles to wait months for simple medical procedures. Young doctors are paid just £315 a month.
