IOC: Bobsleigh winner Zubkov was part of Sochi doping conspiracy

AN OLYMPIC disciplinary panel said yesterday that “powerful” evidence proved that two-time bobsleigh gold medalist Alexander Zubkov took part in the 2014 Sochi Games doping conspiracy.

In its full decision published yesterday, of the verdict made in late November, the IOC disciplinary panel chaired by Swiss former rower Denis Oswald detailed why it disqualified Zubkov and banned him for life from the Olympics.

The verdict states one urine sample had “an abnormally high level of salt” and two scratched bottles were tampered with.
