Injury sidelines England Test skipper Stokes for rest of summer
England Test captain Ben Stokes and all-rounder Nat Sciver have won ICC cricketer of the year awards. Issue date: Thursday January 26, 2023.

ENGLAND Test captain Ben Stokes has been ruled out for the remainder of the summer with a torn hamstring, it was announced today.

The 33-year-old suffered the injury while batting for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred on Sunday and was later seen on crutches.

Stokes will miss England’s upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins on August 21.
