ENGLAND are set to play a first Women’s Test match in the West Indies during 2027 as part of the updated Future Tours Programme (FTP) announced by the International Cricket Council.

The new schedule begins next year and runs through until early 2029.

England will travel to the West Indies for fixtures during April and May 2027. As well as a single Test match, there will also be three one-day internationals and three T20 games.

It will be the first Test match between England and the West Indies since 1979.

At the end of the current FTP schedule, England are set to play Tests in both South Africa and Australia this winter.

The next FTP also includes sees Zimbabwe for the first time, taking the total number of teams up to 11.

England are scheduled for a first tour of Pakistan during October 2027 for three ODIs and three T20 matches.

The West Indies will host Australia for a Test in March 2026 as well as other shorter-format fixtures and then travel to South Africa during 2028, which also includes an away Test match.

“It is heartening that member boards are keen to play across formats and also that they have planned tri-series to prepare for ICC events,” said ICC general manager of cricket Wasim Khan.

“The effort made by the members to provide a balanced and contextual calendar will further elevate the women’s game.”
