Brentford win appeal against Norgaard’s red card at Everton
Brentford's Christian Norgaard reacts after being shown a red card for serious foul play during the Premier League match at Goodison Park, Liverpool. Picture date: Saturday November 23, 2024

BRENTFORD captain Christian Norgaard has had the red card he was shown during Saturday’s goalless draw with Everton overturned following an appeal.

The 30-year-old was dismissed in the 41st minute by referee Chris Kavanagh who was summoned to the VAR monitor to review a challenge on goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Norgaard was deemed to have committed serious foul play when, in attempting to reach a header across goal from Ethan Pinnock, his studs connected with Pickford’s knee.
