RMT members working on the Heathrow Express will walk out for 48 hours next week after overwhelmingly rejecting a pay offer, the union announced today.
Despite several efforts to resolve the dispute, members voted for industrial action and have agreed not to go in on shift between 00:01 on Monday next week until 23:59 on Tuesday.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said: “Our members at Heathrow Express have made their position clear with a strong mandate for action.
“They are determined to secure fair pay and better working conditions.”
He added: “Heathrow Express management must now recognise the serious concerns of the workforce and return to the table with a meaningful offer.”
The union has called on Heathrow Express management to improve their offer and avoid ongoing disruption.
RMT has said it remains open to further negotiations.
Heathrow Express called the strike action “incredibly disappointing” and insisted there will be no disruption to services.
