Yee excels at Valencia marathon
OLYMPIC triathlon champion Alex Yee produced a stunning run at the Valencia Marathon to post the second-fastest time ever by a Briton.
The 27-year-old, who claimed gold in Paris last summer, made his marathon debut in London earlier this year but took four-and-a-half minutes off that time in Spain.
Yee finished seventh overall in a time of two hours six minutes and 38 seconds, putting him second only to Sir Mo Farah in the British record books.
Yee, who plans to focus fully on triathlon building up to the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, wrote on Instagram: “An unforgettable day. Take the risk. VAMOS!”
The Valencia Marathon was won by Kenya’s John Korir in a time of 2hrs 2mins 24secs.
