Westwood salvages a point for Birmingham

Emily Westwood headed an injury-time equaliser as Birmingham came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw at Reading in the Women’s Super League yesterday.

Defender Westwood found the net with a looping effort in the third minute of added time after Aoife Mannion had halved the deficit with a penalty just before the break, following Harriet Scott’s foul on Emma Follis.

Reading had looked on course for back-to-back wins thanks to Brooke Chaplen’s 21st-minute spot-kick and a superb long-range strike from England midfielder Jade Moore.
