Welsh opinion poll predicts Labour landslide and Reform outperforming Plaid

WELSH voters are set to punish the Tories in the general election as an opinion poll shows them potentially losing all their parliamentary seats.

More than 25 per cent of those voting Tory back in 2019 now back Reform.

The latest Cardiff University and ITV Cymru Wales poll, published today, projects Labour is heading for a landslide victory, with Plaid Cymru on track to win two or three seats in July.

The poll conducted by YouGov predicts that 45 per cent of people in Wales would vote for Labour, up three points from its previous poll in December, with the Tories limping along at just 18 per cent.

The polling was conducted before the news that Nigel Farage would be standing in the election but shows Reform UK polling higher than Plaid Cymru.

In more bad news for Plaid, a third of their 2019 voters say they will vote Labour in the upcoming election with its vote share slipping to 12 per cent compared to Reform’s 13 per cent.
