WATFORD have signed goalkeeper Nathan Baxter on a free transfer following his departure from Bolton.

The 26-year-old, who began his career with Chelsea, has agreed a two-year contract at Vicarage Road.

Hornets owner Gino Pozzo recently made clear his ambition for the Sky Bet Championship club to challenge for a return to the Premier League.

Baxter told Watford’s website: “What player doesn’t have the dream of playing in the Premier League?

“To sit in front of a club and they tell you that is their ambition, it’s obviously very attractive.”

Baxter, who represented Ross County and Hull during various loan spells while contracted to Chelsea, made 72 appearances in his two seasons with Bolton.
