TEACHERS STRIKE: NASUWT Cymru members at Llangors Church in Wales primary school, Llangorse, Powys, will be striking today.
The teaching union claims poor management decisions over the last two and a half years have resulted in an avoidable redundancy situation and is seeking an immediate halt to that process while planning 11 days of strike action through April, May and June.
A spokesperson for Powys County Council said it had met with the union and discussions will continue.
GAZA DEMO: Stop the War Cymru is holding a North Wales Gaza demonstration in Rhyl starting at the train station at 11.15am and marching to the Rhyl Arena on the promenade on April 13.
Co-chair Libby Nolan said: “The huge global protests against the slaughter in Gaza are having an impact.
“The UN security council vote for a ceasefire must now be enforced and aid must be given safe passage to reach the starving people of Gaza.”
PAY TALKS: BMA Cymru Wales announced yesterday it has suspended industrial action after a constructive meeting last week with the Welsh government to resolve its pay disputes.
The union said the Welsh government has made a significant proposal to form the basis of talks to end the pay disputes with all secondary care doctors including consultants and junior doctors.
The committees representing doctors from all three branches of practice have voted to enter pay negotiations.
