MEN’S FOOTBALL: Raphael Veiga scored twice as Brazil’s Palmeiras overturned a 3-0 first leg deficit to beat Liga Deportiva Universitaria Quito 4-3 on aggregate in Friday morning’s Copa Libertadores semi-final clash.
They will face compatriots Flamengo in the final after they survived Gonzalo Plata’s 56th-minute sending off to draw 0-0 at Argentina’s Racing Club and seal a 1-0 aggregate win.
A Brazilian club has won the Copa Libertadores for the last six years.
MEN’S BASKETBALL: Cheshire Phoenix take their five-match Super League winning run to Leicester on Saturday evening, knowing that another victory will move them level at the top with London Lions, who are not in action until they also face Leicester on Sunday.
