WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Paris St Germain have confirmed the signing of England goalkeeper Mary Earps from Manchester United on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the French club.

Earps made over 100 appearances for the Red Devils after starting her career at Nottingham’s West Bridgford Colts, won the Golden Gloves award at the 2023 World Cup and has picked up 50 caps for the Lionesses.

SPEEDWAY: Premiership leaders Ipswich continued their miserable record at Belle Vue by slumping to a 58-26 loss in Manchester on Monday night.

The meeting was abandoned after heat 14 when Belle Vue’s debutant Max Zischke was hospitalised after a crash.

Ipswich still top the Premiership by five points as Sheffield slipped to a 48-22 defeat at Oxford. King’s Lynn’s match with Leicester was postponed due to a waterlogged track.

Panama beat Bolivia 3-1 to seal second place in group C behind the Uruguayans.

Tomorrow’s games see Brazil needing a draw with Group D table-toppers Colombia tomorrow to confirm their the quarter final spot and Costa Rica, who have yet to score, playing winless Paraguay in Austin, Texas.
