WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE: Leeds continued their perfect start to the new Super League season after dominating the first half to earn a 42-36 win at last year’s Grand Final champions Wigan.

Leeds are four points clear in the table but have played a game more than Halifax who romped to a 72-52 win at London Roosters on Sunday. Bottom club Hull FC were not in action over the weekend.

DARTS: Top seeds England beat Austria 10-6 in Frankfurt on Sunday evening to lift the World Cup for the first time since 2016.

The English team of Luke Humphries and Michael Smith, the two most recent world champions, beat Scotland’s Gary Anderson and Peter Wright 8-4 in the semi-final while Austria brushed aside Belgium 8-3.

Defending champions Wales lost 8-6 to Croatia in the second round.

MEN’S CYCLING: Spanish rider Raul Garcia Pierna became the first member of this year’s Tour de France peloton to be sanctioned after he was fined 200 Swiss Francs for urinating in proximity to the watching public during Sunday’s stage two from Cesenatico to Bologna.

Mark Cavendish’s team-mate Michele Gazzoli was the first withdrawal from the race after suffering an adverse reaction to the heat during stage one.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Mexico crashed out of the Copa America after they could only draw 0-0 with Ecuador on Tuesday morning.

The Ecuadorians will next face defending champions Argentina in the last eight on Thursday.

Venezuela cruised past Jamaica 3-0 to top Group B and set up a quarter final tie with Canada. Hosts the USA face unbeaten Uruguay tomorrow in Kansas City needing a win to guarantee their escape from the group stages.
