The England captain has now scored 28 goals in 22 games in all tournaments this season. 

Leipzig remain Munich’s closest challengers, eight points off the pace, after Yan Diomande bagged a hat-trick in their 6-0 stuffing of seventh-placed Eintracht Frankfurt.
 

MEN’S BOXING: Jai Opetaia knocked out Huseyin Chinkara in the eighth round to retain his IBF cruiserweight world title in Queensland on Saturday. 

The New South Wales native extended his unbeaten record to 29 bouts with 23 wins by knock-out while Chinkara suffered a first career defeat. 

In Monte Carlo Shabaz Masoud was awarded a unanimous decision over Peter McGrail after a close fight to claim the vacant European super-bantamweight title.
 

MEN’S CRICKET: Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal hit two-sixes and 12-fours in an unbeaten 116 as India cruised to a nine-wicket win against South Africa with more than 10 overs to spare in their one-day international on Saturday. 

Victory sealed India’s 2-1 success in the three match series. 

Quinton de Kock had smashed a rapid 106 as South Africa posted 270 all out with Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna both taking four wickets.
 

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Goals from Dan and Jordan Williams earned defending champions the New Saints a 2-1 win over Llandudno in their Welsh League Cup semi-final. 

TNS will make their third consecutive appearance in February’s final when they come up against fellow Cymru Premier team Barry Town, who cruised to a 3-0 victory at Cambrian United. 

Barry last reached the final in 2017 when they were thumped 4-0 by TNS.
