RMT calls off strike action on Scotrail after guard role secured

STRIKES by ScotRail guards have been suspended following the resolution of a dispute over their roles.

Rail union RMT has said that it has successfully retained the guard and all the responsibilities of the role on every train along the Barrhead and East Kilbride route.

The strikes were due to go ahead on May 18,19,25,26 and June 1 and 2 have now been called off.
