Rebels agree peace but not with the government
THREE Western-backed rebel groups signed a Russian-Egyptian brokered truce in the southern suburbs of Damascus yesterday.
But Egypt’s official Mena news agency said the deal with the Army of Islam, Jaysh al-Ababil and Aknaf Beit al-Maqdis — allied to Palestine’s Hamas — did not include the Syrian government.
The agreement covers the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp, split between the Western-backed factions and Isis.
