Protests continue in India against the arrest of one of Modi's top rivals

HUNDREDS of protesters in India’s capital took to the streets for a second day on Saturday to demand the immediate release of one of the top rivals of far-right Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal comes as the country gears up for a national election next month.

Mr Kejriwal, New Delhi’s top elected official, was arrested by the federal Enforcement Directorate on Thursday night.
