PALESTINE activists are due to protest against “the media’s whitewash of Israel’s genocide in Gaza” outside the BBC headquarters in Salford Quays on Saturday.
Beginning at 1pm, the protest will be led by a children’s ceasefire march and will see activists attend from Manchester Friends of Palestine, Manchester Palestine Action, and the Youth Front for Palestine, among others.
Ahead of the protest, a spokesperson from Manchester Friends of Palestine highlighted that “more journalists have been killed by Israel in the last few months in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon, than died in the whole of the Vietnam war.”
“Like health workers, they have been viciously targeted, as have their families,” the spokesperson said.
“That is why children will be leading our rally and March on Saturday at the BBC in Salford.”
They called on the BBC to “simply let their cameras do the talking,” and that “when they do show the unedited and uneditorialised filming, people can see the 30,000 deaths with more still under the rubble and 70,000 injured without hospitals to go to.”
