Palestine Action shut down production at Israeli weapons manufacturer in Kent

PROTESTERS shut down Elbit’s Instro Precision in Kent today by attaching themselves to each other outside access points of the weapons factory to halt supplies from being manufactured for Israel.

Elbit Systems provides a range of weaponry for the Israeli military, including 85 per cent of their military drone fleet and land-based equipment, as well as electronic warfare, bullets, munitions and gun components.

A Palestine Action spokesperson said: “Our commitment to the struggle for Palestinian liberation remains stronger than ever, which means it is our obligation to shut down the means of weapons production for the Israeli military.

“We refuse to continue appealing to the political establishment to end our collective complicity in genocide.

“Instead, we will take direct action to shut down Israel’s weapons trade.”

Palestine rights campaigners have been taking part in almost daily actions since October 7 to stop the exports of weapons to Israel.

One of the activists locked on said: “I’ve seen children being massacred and I don’t know what to do apart from put my body in the way of the machines that are creating the weapons that are doing that [and] disrupting business as usual.”
