Owen Jones and Anna Soubry hounded by so-called ‘Yellow Vest UK’ mob

FAR-RIGHT protesters in Westminster hurled abuse at left-wing journalist Owen Jones and pro-EU Tory MP Anna Soubry today.

Mr Jones filmed the moments he was harassed and followed down the street by a mob of so-called “Yellow Vest UK” protesters – who have copied demonstrators in France by wearing high-vis jackets but promote a far-right and Islamophobic message.

They shouted “traitor” at Mr Jones and hurled other abuse while they were all followed by at least two police officers.

One of the hecklers, James Goddard, has a page on the crowdfunding website Patreon seeking donations, calling himself a “political activist and campaigner.”

The thugs then went on to direct their abuse at Ms Soubry whose BBC News interview was disrupted by the protesters chanting “Soubry is a nazi.” She was then mobbed by the gang of men as she walked back to Parliament, calling her a liar and “scum.”

Labour MP David Lammy called the abuse caught on camera and widely shared “disgusting” and said it was “historically illiterate.”
