NUJ calls for Apple to withdraw AI from its phones

JOURNALISTS today called on Apple to remove its artificial intelligence (AI) feature from its smartphones warning of its harm to journalism.

The National Union of Journalists urged tech giant Apple to remove its AI feature, which the company calls Apple Intelligence, after inaccurate news alerts on its latest iPhones.

The product is meant to summarise breaking news notifications but, in some cases, the technology has invented entirely false claims.
