Norway to pay women and men’s senior football sides the same

The Norwegian Football Federation will pay its women’s internationals the same money as the men’s team receive from next year.

Under the existing arrangement, a pot of 6.55 million krone (£627,000) is distributed among the men’s senior team each year, with just 3.1m krone (£296,000) going to the women’s side.

However that will be adjusted so that from 2018 both sides will receive 6m krone (£575,000), with the men having agreed to contribute 550,000 krone from their previous pot of funds to bolster the women’s funds.
