Welsh government urged to phase out greyhound racing

ANIMAL charities in Wales are calling on the Welsh government to phase out greyhound racing.

Five charities in the Cut the Chase Coalition, which includes the RSPCA, says thousands of greyhounds are killed or injured while racing at speeds of more than 40 miles an hour.

In March the Welsh government completed a 12-week consultation on the future of greyhound racing.
