Richest give lower portion of wealth to charity causes

BRITAIN’S richest donate a smaller proportion of their wealth to charity than the average person, according to research published today by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).

It calculated that if Britain’s 536,673 millionaires donated just 1 per cent of their investable assets to charity, it would boost the sector by £12 billion.

But it found that millionaires gave just 0.4 per cent in 2023, which equated to an estimated £7.96bn.
