THE Star Comment that appeared in the printed newspaper over the weekend (June 8-9) was not authorised and contained some errors, most obviously in attributing the wrong name to the new MP for Peterborough, who is Lisa Forbes, not Liz MacDonald.

The approved editorial as amended, copy-edited and proofread was published on the Morning Star website on the evening of June 7 and is available to read there at mstar.link/EditorialJune8-19.

Due to human error, an early unsubbed draft of the editorial was placed on the page instead of the correct version and unfortunately this was not spotted before going to print. Aside from the naming error, it contained some spelling errors and differs in some areas of political emphasis from the correct version.
