A CONSULTANCY business slashing jobs at its most heavily unionised site has been warned by Unite against conducting “union-busting by stealth.”
Managers at Diligenta were urged to give “meaningful commitments” about the future of the workforce at their Liverpool site, where they have been a number of strike votes, at the business’s AGM today.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Unite is demanding that Diligenta gives its skilled and committed workforce a long-term commitment about their jobs in Liverpool.
“The union will not stand by and let Diligenta conduct union-busting by stealth.”
Unite Diligenta officer Jacob Goddard said: “Unite members in Diligenta Liverpool have serious concerns about their futures as their employer continues with a recruitment freeze at the site.”
The union has launched an online petition calling on Liverpool Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram to intervene.
Diligenta declined to comment.
