British-Palestinian candidate has office vandalised in Hove
Tanushka Marah's campaign office

BRITISH-PALESTINIAN independent candidate for Hove and Portslade Tanushka Marah says she was left deeply saddened after her campaign office was vandalised and the door glued shut.

She said it followed weeks of harassment by pro-Israel activists, secret filming of her team’s events and volunteers, misinformation about her and the campaign and theft of electoral materials.

Ms Marah said the incident has been reported to the police but despite the vandalism, “we quickly regrouped and found a silver lining as it provided an opportunity for the community to come together and creatively repair our office front.”

She said: “I stand for the communities I represent, and together we stand united.

“The people of Hove and Portslade shape my common-sense politics: fund us, not wars; revive our NHS; stop sewage pollution; end the housing crisis.

“We will continue our campaign with renewed energy, committed to building a community where everyone feels included and valued.”
