ARSENAL football club have been named the priciest club to support, with fans needing to work more than 50 hours in order to afford their eye-watering £1,127 season ticket.
Sports betting experts Bet Clever carried out research on 2025/2026 season ticket prices of the top Premier League teams, comparing the costs with the average national hourly wage. London teams took the top three places, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs supporters putting in the longest hours (Chelsea fans requiring 39.16 hours of work and Tottenham supporters working 38.10 hours). West Ham on the other hand was fairly affordable in comparison, with season tickets going for £345.
Outside of London, Burnley ranks as the second-most affordable club, with fans needing 15.67 hours of work to afford a £352 season ticket.
Manchester City supporters need to work 18.91 hours to afford the champions’ £425 season ticket, making them the third-most affordable club. It’s ahead of local rivals Manchester United, where fans need to work 27.06 hours to afford a £608 season ticket.
The study also revealed differences between national and local affordability. Everton fans living in Liverpool face the highest local burden, needing to work 35.03 hours to afford their £730 season ticket due to the area’s lower average hourly wage of £20.84.
Commenting on the findings, Roberto Romanello from Bet Clever said: “These findings show that there isn’t just money behind following the Premier League and the teams in it, but time too. The location of some of the teams leads to a discrepancy between local affordability and affordability for fans across the country, particularly for London-based clubs, and results for some of the teams in the list may make fans question whether travelling to see their favourite teams is even worth it.”
