United States: Democrats turn on Obama over wave of deportations
DEMOCRATS in the US Congress confronted the White House on Thursday over a wave of festive-season deportations of Central American immigrants.
Representative Luis Gutierrez said that the crackdown risked undoing all the goodwill President Barack Obama had built up through a moratorium on deportations in recent years.
“In the Hispanic caucus there’s a real sense of outrage,” Mr Gutierrez said.
