JOE JOYCE said he “predicts a riot” as he readies himself to do battle with Derek Chisora in London tomorrow.
Joyce, who got back to winning ways with a stoppage victory over Kash Ali in March, wants to elevate himself back into heavyweight title contention with a victory over “Del Boy.”
And the 38-year-old promised an “explosive” night of action when he meets his fellow Briton in London.
Joyce told the PA news agency: “It’s going to be a massive night of action … it’s going to be explosive. We both have good styles. It’s been a long-time building this fight, I never thought it would happen.
“When I knew he was an option I said ‘let’s go and give the fans what they want.’
“He brings war, excitement, unpredictability, you just need to look at the years. I bring the same energy, I throw punches and will be on you, I throw big shots and make it entertaining, when we collide it will be all-action.
“We will be in the centre, I’ll be slugging it with him. I’m the juggernaut, I come forward, I’m heavy-handed,
“I predict a riot.”
Joyce suffered back-to-back defeats to China’s Zhilei Zhang in 2023 which disrupted his title bid.
The “Juggernaut” wants a victory over Chisora to help set him up with a potential bout against some of the biggest names in the division.
He added: “After this fight then hopefully other fights will line up, the stars will align. There’s still the rematch between [Tyson] Fury and [Oleksandr] Usyk, there’s [Daniel] Dubois and [Anthony] Joshua, [Joseph] Parker’s still there, there’s plenty of big names out there I haven’t fought or want to rematch.
“I feel in my prime, I’m coming for the straps and the bag.”
