Film round up: March 3

Certain Women (12A) Directed by Kelly Reichardt 2/5

THIS slow and understated drama about the lives of three very different women whose paths tenuously interconnect won the best film award at last year’s London Film Festival.

While it’s heartening to see a film that champions women in front of and behind the camera, I expected more from these three narratives adapted from short stories by Maile Meloy and set against the backdrop of the American north-west.
